every website looks the same due to UX convictions. the biggest brands don’t necessarily have the best websites, they are not as invested in it as smaller brands. smaller brands take risks. when everyone plays it safe, it blends in. luxury should consider their digital branding as a modern craftsmanship.
1. ERL https://erl.store
most exciting brand storytelling through photographic lens. photographic communication applied to the coolest california surfer brand.
2. teenage engineering https://teenage.engineering/
very modern and technically well executed. Jesper Kouthoofd is the best designer of our time.
3. Heirloom https://heirloom.se
a swedish vintage clothes store for kids. great execution. very playful, colourful and adorable.
4. steve jobs archive https://stevejobsarchive.com
a very serene representation with smooth transitions, great use of white space and clever micro-interactions. it’s a perfect tribute to Steve’s obsession with art meeting tech.
4+1. online ceramics (old website design) https://online-ceramics.com/
it’s the +1 on the list because their previous website design looked amazingly uncaring and undesigned, but in a cool way.
